About the role To develop and implement security policies and practices to protect Diageo’s people, assets, reputation and future development in Diageo Venezuela.

Perform all work in accordance with all established regulatory and compliance safety & security requirements. Having a comprehensive understanding of the business and the risks it faces and providing appropriate advice.

Creating and driving proactive security programs, with partners, to ensure the continued safe and effective operations of the company (including supply function).

Assuring the physical security of facilities and personnel including conducting security vulnerability assessments. Establish and lead educational and training programs focusing on policy and procedures relating to security programs.

Preparing high quality reports including intelligence briefing, threats assessments and investigative reports. Supplying to the global response to crises and significant events.

Establishing and maintaining close liaison with relevant law enforcement and government officials. Delivering security training and awareness for employees and providing professional security advice and consultation to corporate management.

Security against threats and / or actions from terrorist and criminal organizations. Participate in crisis management in the event of commercial or executive threat.

Ensure technical security systems on all sites provide the optimum level of cost-effective security by maintaining up to date knowledge of available systems and recommending changes as appropriate.

Maintain up to date knowledge of threat assessments to property, assets and personnel. Recommend revenue and capital budget submissions for security.

Review security of computer systems and intellectual property, and advice where is needed. Ensure all managers are given authoritative security advice appropriate to their areas of work.

Review all existing security practices for equipment and contracts to ensure effectiveness. Make recommendations for the rationalization of all aspects of security.

Conduct / handle investigations into suspected criminal matters where requested, and collaborate closely with relevant law enforcement agencies, where appropriate.

Acting as Business Partner of the whole business, by giving an optimal and timely support, understanding the priorities of each internal customer.

Acting as Case Manager, in order that all breaches where legal is involved are handled on time, and on a fairly basis, supporting Diageo s culture.

Maintain a network of knowledgeable and influential persons in government, law enforcement, security, intelligence, and internal functions to serve as collaborators and partners.

Qualifications and Experience Required : Prior experience in law enforcement, military, government security / intelligence or corporate security is required.

Good understanding of general security including threat and developing risk. In-depth knowledge of security issues, almost certainly acquired from several years’ experience in a law enforcement agency, armed forces or security industry.

Knowledge of interaction between company and law enforcement agencies in kidnap / extortion and crisis management cases.

Knowledge of electronic surveillance systems. Awareness and capabilities to negotiate terms and structure of security contracts.

Analysis, conducting site surveys, crisis management and executive protection. Strong integrity. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Good written (English) skills to prepare documentation for corporate leadership or governmental agencies. Ability to stay focused by constantly reassessing priorities and handling expectations within the business.

Ability to work expertly, persuasively and to gain the respect and trust of other senior managers. Flexible attitude to travel.

The need to be fully mobile and available on a 24-hour on-call basis, to respond to crisis situations. Personal drive and pro-activeness.

Strong communication skills. Ability to constantly reprioritize and handle expectations from a large and demanding business.
