Key Responsibilities :

Communication’s landscape, strategic planning

Develop and implement a communication’s strategy that advances the purpose and priorities of WV’s response to drive influence, income and impact.

This function includes leadership to ensure :

  • Plan, budget and implement a response’s communications strategy and subsequent plans to position and promote the response’s impact.
  • The plan must detail prioritized targets and audiences, media engagement actions, evidence-based contents plan (for digital outlets and technical branding), engagement events and accountability products and KPI for effectiveness measurement.

  • Engage and participate in key regional Communications working groups, such as R4V and the Inter-Agency Comms Group to position World Vision as a key actor in the Venezuelan migrant crisis response.
  • Program. budget and ensure availability of financial resources to ensure roll out of the response’s Communication Strategy and subsequent plans.
  • Ensure visibility of the Venezuelan response in key internal communications outlet (Ignite, Connectados, etc) to ensure positioning, accountability and support from the Partnership.
  • Monitor, measure and report monthly on the effectiveness of the communications / external engagement strategy by gathering reports of the 7 countries involved in the multi-country response.
  • Represent, position and coordinate for communications in WV coordination mechanisms (e.g. PCT, ARG)
  • Coordinate and liaise with appropriate global and regional communications leaders to enable both global communications and positioning goals and support for response communications
  • Communications Management and Media Coordination

    Lead the design and implementation of an impact-based brand positioning and content plans to enhance internal engagement and support external engagement (including media & influencer engagement).

    This function includes :

  • Integrate FO production capacities to develop an impact-based content plan that provides stories, case studies, and other communications products to support technical branding and external and public engagement efforts, with special focus on amplifying children’s voice and voicing our Christian identity.
  • Develop and put in place mechanisms to enable multi-country teams coordination, planning and delivery of products, events and contents.
  • Develop press releases around relevant events, analysis or context situations and share them with the pertinent global and regional communications through the available internal channels : via Teams Emergency LAC Communications, etc.
  • Ensure processes in place to deliver rapid sign offs of messaging and content.
  • Write, edit, coordinate technical content to support and promote World Vision expertise / partnerships / innovation / learning / research / impact.
  • Content is potentially for annual, research, technical or advocacy reports, position, briefing or technical papers, case studies, lessons learned, expert insights or other engagement pieces (delete or add as necessary)

  • Liaise with and coordinate content stakeholders (regional bureaus, SOs, response, technical, global) to manage, identify and prioritise content requirements to meet the highest value and broadest need
  • Identify and work with non-communications response staff who can help provide content, when and where necessary
  • Support advocacy and campaign work with relevant content and messaging
  • Pitch content ideas to and via appropriate World Vision staff and mechanisms
  • Promptly coordinate media interviews and schedules with spokespeople
  • Procure learning and capacity building of FO communications’ staff by leveraging experiences from SO and other extra-regional resources to enhance technical branding and GAM communications.
  • Ensure the delivery of contents for global and regional requests in Contentflow and ensure that all input is stored and appropriately indexed in Storyhub and WVRelief.
  • Reputational risk management

    Ensure World Vision has a proactive approach to prevent and deal with reputational risk and media crisis.

    This function includes :

  • Strategic advice and training to FOs to identify and asses potential reputational risks
  • Monitoring of these risks
  • Monitor the internal, humanitarian, media and security landscape and works with and advises leadership, management and response functions on all areas of brand and reputation applying World Vision brand standards and complying with World Vision risk reporting protocols
  • Develop and update response narrative, key messages, Q&As and guidelines and secures sign offs in order to proactively and effectively position the humanitarian crisis and World Vision’s response, and proactively manage organisational risk and reputation issues.
  • Work with World Vision partner organisations to ensure proper branding and visibility in any collaborations
  • Leadership and strategic advise

    Act as the expert in all external engagement matters to influence executive leadership and ensure internal capability :

    This function includes :

  • Write forewords and message for key appeareancse
  • Spokesperson training to response leadership
  • Development of key messages and talking points
