Reuters is seeking an experienced and dynamic journalist to join its reporting team in Venezuela covering one of Latin America’s biggest stories.
Venezuela’s economic and political crisis appears to be reaching a climax, with the United States throwing its support behind the opposition and escalating its sanctions against President Nicolas Maduro’s left-
leaning government. The exodus of millions of Venezuelans desperate for food and medicine - into neighboring countries also threatens a major regional humanitarian crisis.
Investors are watching closely to see how much of the OPEC nation’s oil production will be shut out of global markets as sanctions bite and are assessing whether state oil company PDVSA will be able to pay its debts.
We are seeking an energetic reporter with a proven track record of breaking news and developing enterprise stories to help put us ahead on this hugely competitive story.
Excellent written English is a must. Familiarity with Spanish is also a key requirement and a flair for multi-media reporting would be a plus.
